Release Notes

This 15-track entry in Sony's Playlist series is a best-of with a twist: it has 14 big hits by the Charlie Daniels Band between 1972's Uneasy Rider album (while not his first record -- two solo offerings preceded it -- it was the first by the Charlie Daniels Band) and 1989's Simple Man -- the last official album by the CDB. While cuts from the Volunteer Jam recordings are left off, there are tracks from Saddle Tramp, Fire on the Mountain, Million Mile Reflections, Full Moon, Windows, Homesick Heroes, and Me and the Boys. There's also a CD-R track tacked on at the end with photos, bio, vid clips, etc. This set is only for the fan, however. There have been other compilations out there that serve the hardcore fans that go much deeper. Included are a cross-section of singles -- some of which charted high, others which didn't -- and carefully selected album cuts. ~ Thom Jurek
